GERs in Therap 8.0

July 21st, 2008

Today I got my first chance to play with something that you will probably see in Therap 8.0

I was working with the GER team on the first go around of their current development work. Here’s what I saw:

  • “Next” and “Previous” buttons at the bottom of the GER and on the Done Page.
  • The GER is in read only mode to all reviewers until they click “Edit this GER”. This will prevent multiple people getting errors from accessing the GER at once.
  • Notifications can be added/editing by reviewers
  • The Provider Administrator can now require certain notifications be documented based on the notification level of the GER
  • Additional bits and pieces for our friends in Washington State.
  • More features to help New York providers comply with Jonathan’s Law

Cool stuff, I love new releases.

Things I enjoyed in Ireland

July 20th, 2008

  1. No need for air conditioners
  2. Driving on the left (I may have enjoyed this more than my family).  We had a diesel Minivan which went all week on one tank (over 1000km) good thing as it cost 90 Euros to fill it up!  Calum enjoyed counting how many times I stalled, I think the total was 17!
  3. Accents.  I love Irish accents (my favourite price is 33.40)
  4. RTE 2FM this was the radio station we listened to all week (you’ll have to ask my kids what my favourite song was)
  5. Family.  I think that we are still all talking to each other, even after having been in the same house all week.  17 of us - WOW.
  6. Sitting behind the Cork City bench and seeing their coach stress just the way I do.
  7. Castles.  I love exploring old castles and listening to tour guides tell their stories (the accent is a bonus!)
  8. Late sunsets, outside in the light until 10 or 11.
  9. Euros.  It just makes sense and I like seeing where all the coins come from.  For some reason I was getting a lot of Spanish ones
  10. Old pubs with low wooden ceilings.  Feels the way a pub should.

Now back to changing the world!

There and back again…

July 19th, 2008

Made it home from Ireland today, long day, but definitely easier going this way.

Here’s a bunch of photos, I’ll tell stories later.

Off to the Emerald Isle

July 9th, 2008

Carrigeen Castle, Cahir, County Tipperary.

Tomorrow, for the first time since 2006, I am going to take a break from daily blogging (I have plans for dealing with the withdrawal - more on that later).

We (the US based Brockies) will be meeting up with the Edinburgh, Kirkliston, and Milngavie (prize for pronouncing it properly, answers in a comment) Brockies in a village called Castletownshend in the very south of Ireland to celebrate Ma Brockie’s 70th Birthday.

We’ll actually arrive a day early and after flying into Shannon, will spend our first night in the humble abode pictured above (Carrigeen Castle Bed and Breakfast near Tipperary).

Then it’s down to Castletownshend where we have rented a house for all 15 of us.

The castle overlooking the harbour

I am going to be off-line and phoneless all the way through July 20th (much to the amazement of my family) so if you need anything, please track down someone else via the office, Live Help, Secure Comm, or email.

The following paragraph from the website of the place we are staying may give a hint or two about my plans…

The village of Castletownshend (pictured below left) is centred around
the steep main road that leads down to the Castle, the quayside and the
harbour. There are a number of pubs in the village, including the Egon
Ronay listed pub and restaurant Mary Anne’s; there’s also a post office
and a shop.

Enjoy, I’ll see you all soon and have many, many photos to share.

Have you tried using ISP Plans yet?

July 8th, 2008

I am having more and more conversations with folks all over the country who are really excited about the new ISP Plan module.

If you haven’t tried it out yet, remember that you will need to add the roles to your Super Role before you will be able to see it.

After that, ISP Plans are available in Test Mode for you to try out.

If you have any questions, suggestions or would like to set up a training, just let us know

Web 2.0ing it

via Mushkush via the BBC

This has to be pretty close to the ideal/ultimate Web 2.0 application.

Jooce gives you your own desktop online so you can get at it from wherever you are.

Very cool!
