Therap has introduced Medication Administration Records (MAR) to further extend the system’s documentation capabilities. The MAR application is connected with the Medication History forms of the Health Tracking (HT) module. The medications are listed on the MAR forms based on medication details provided in the Medication History forms. With the new MAR forms, users are able to track when a medication has been administered to an individual and add any relevant comments.
Medication administration is widespread among many agencies in the developmental disabilities community. Therap understands that tracking medication information for hundreds of individuals across different programs is becoming an increasingly complicated task for administrators. With agencies growing bigger, the proper administration of medication records for every individual becomes more time consuming and increases chances of errors. The traditional way of administrating medication records also lacks a central information hub and a real time tracking capability. With the introduction of MAR,
all users can easily update the medication administration information of an individual on a single form. On the MAR, all current medications for the individual appear on a monthly grid. This includes information such as Medication Name, Administration Time, Administered By, and Comments, among others. Users can also specify each medication’s current and actual scheduled times. Medications can then be administered as per schedule and recorded during each shift. It also helps to track if medications were provided on time or if they had been delayed. Comments on these tasks can additionally help keeping track of the medication history. Furthermore, monthly MAR reports can be generated and exported to PDF and Excel formats. Such reports help administrators have an overview of an individual’s medication records to help understand how support and care is being provided.
Benefits of MAR:
Easily track Medication Administration Records.
Integration with Medication History (in Health Tracking).
Fast data entry using Quick Mode.
Generate Reports and export to Excel of PDF.
Save time and increase efficiency.
Reduce cost while improving the quality of care and support.
Therap values the time of support professionals and designed the MAR with a ‘Quick Mode’ feature. This helps the users to enter data into the system in a much faster way. As most cases do not need details of medication administration, the default mode facilitates easy to use and time saving mechanism for entering standard information. If further details are needed, users can switch to ‘Detailed Mode’ at any time during the process. Integration with Therap’s Medication History forms also makes sure that same information is not needed to be entered in multiple places, which further reduces time consumption and chances of errors.
Agencies can save costs using Therap’s Medication Administration Records by improving efficiency, as well as cutting the cost of paper. MAR also reduces cost of tracking thousands of records by providing a secure, easy to use, and unified platform that is updated in real time and backed up by Therap’s industry leading storage and archiving solution. The built in communication tools in Therap system further adds to the benefits of lower cost.
