Therap 7.3 Released

Therap 7.3 was released on Saturday June 14, 2008. This new version brings many new features and enhancements to Therap applications to better balance both functionality and usability.

A new ISP Plan module has been introduced for New York providers. It automatically shows all approved IPOPs of the individual as well as the individual’s contacts from the approved IDFs. T-Notes can also be attached to an ISP Plan. This can also be used by providers in other states with the appropriate ISP Plan roles.

The GER module now supports the following APD forms for Florida: Agency for Persons with Disabilities - Incident Reporting Form, and Agency for Persons with Disabilities – Follow-Up Measures Taken.

Version 7.3 also brings better file attachment options. Multiple files can now be attached to GERs and Health Tracking (Appointments and Lab Tests). Users can also see information such as the file description, date of attachment and the name of the person who attached the file.

Management Summaries now has enhanced report generation capabilities. Users can select more than 10 columns for Event Summaries in version 7.3. By doing so, they will get the report via SComm within the next 24 hours.

Within 7.3 billing, users can specify Person and Non Person types of billing providers. A new Taxonomy Code option has also been added so that users can choose a Taxonomy Code when entering a billing provider. For improved navigation, users now have the ability to enter Attendance Data directly in the Attendance Record page.

Within the Training Management System, Training Classes can now be viewed or edited from the Training Course page. Similarly, Training Courses can also be accessed directly from the Training Curriculum page. If users have been assigned to a class for which their certification will never expire, the Training History page will show 'Never' in the column of Certification Expiration Date. When signing up users for a session, Training Administrators and Training Supervisors will get the list of Begin Time and End Time for all of the sessions too.

IDFs can now be saved without having a shared contact. Users with the IDF Update role are able to Update or Discontinue approved IPOPs only. Furthermore, users with IDF Update role will now find an all new Reviewer Comments section on approved IPOPs.

Many of these features and changes were made based on customer feedback and usage patterns. For example, if users have forgotten their password, or are unable to login to Therap applications, they can click on the ‘Trouble Logging In?’ link now available on the login page to know what needs to be done to get access to the system.

These are just some of the many new additions to the new version. For a complete list of enhancements, check out the release notes for Therap 7.3. You can also discuss your thoughts and opinions on Therap applications in our forum.

From the Usability Garage

The Usability and ISP teams are currently working on developing a prototype for ISP Global Template Library. The idea of a global template library is to facilitate the sharing of ISP templates across different agencies. It will provide an option to ‘Publish’ an ISP Template as a Global Template. Once this option is selected, the template will be published in the Global Library, and be visible to users from other providers.

Each ISP Template published in the Global Template Library will have some keywords that tell users what the ISP is about. Any user with proper roles can look in the ISP Template Library for readymade templates that meet their needs and import them for further customization. You may visit our Usability Garage to see the prototypes being developed and post your comments in the support forum.

Therap Conference for Nurses and Clinicians

Therap Services successfully hosted a three day conference for Nurses and Clinicians from June 11, 2008 to June 13, 2008 in Southbury, Connecticut. It was aimed at providing hands on training on how the nurses and clinicians can effectively handle their day-to-day documentation, reporting and communication needs using Therap. Nurses, behaviorists and clinicians came from different agencies situated in different states to participate in this conference. There were sessions on the new features of Therap 7.3, some great discussions on inspections, working with families and working with states. Some tremendous ideas were found on how to best use Therap to get consistency in staff documentation. Another special feature of the conference was a series of gaming sessions meant to create a fun-filled atmosphere for users to learn about Therap applications.

Overall, the conference was a success where both the users and Therap members learned a lot from each other. The users were able to learn about the various features of Therap applications, training games and future initiatives from Therap members. Additionally, Therap members received valuable feedback from users which will help in improving and designing new products, services, and features.

This fall Therap will be heading towards Kansas and Maine to host more conferences. The conferences will include training on Therap applications, brainstorming sessions, interactive workshops, exciting games, discussions and more. All existing, new and potential Therap users are invited to participate in the conferences. Register before September 12, 2008 to get the early bird discount. 3D Training Game Adds New Characters and Graphics

Therap’s popular training game “DSP on Planet Ehtpar” has been updated to version 0.1.0 with some brand new features. One of the additions includes the ability for character selection in the game. Players can now select from any of the four new characters, exploring the game with much more fun.

Another of Therap’s priorities was to make the already existing in-game training more effective. The usability sessions at the recent Therap conferences as well as the data collected from game statistics helped us to understand which parts of the game seemed more difficult, and where players needed more time. Based on this information the new version included the redesign of many of the gameplay elements to bring a more effective learning experience to the users.

Some of the enhancements include: easier to read in-game instructions with better graphics, bigger fonts and easy to spot colors, adjustment of countdown timers, adding more random items in the password matching game, better training for ISP module with new instructions, hints and bonus levels, and enhanced mini games. A new mini game has also been added to the GER “Other” Challenge game. As part of the technical improvements, the 3D game now benefits from advanced loading mechanisms which help reduce load times on the users’ end.

These are just some of the many new features added to the game. Check out our training games from time to time to stay updated. You can try out the full game here, or if you do not have enough time to play the whole game now, you can play any part of the game from this link. Let us know your comments on our support forum.
