Therap 7.3 Just Around the Corner

Therap is on its way to releasing Version 7.3 in June 2008. The new version will include a host of new features and updates to Therap applications. Therap will be introducing a new ISP module for New York providers. This module can also be used by providers in other states. Also, Therap 7.3 is going to support two new APD forms for Florida and multiple file attachment option for GER users. File attachment options will also be available with the Health Tracking Appointments and Lab Test Result forms. Additional updates will include a ‘Review’ feature and improved navigation in the Health Tracking module.

In the new version, users will be able to select more than 10 columns when generating the Event Summaries and the report will be delivered through SComm within 24 hours. It is also going to support both ‘Mark as Read’ and ‘Mark As Read and Go to Next’ buttons on SComm messages. Users will be able to specify ‘Person’ and ‘Non Person’ types of billing providers, and Claims can also be created with billing data from Discontinued Service Authorizations. In addition, the application will also provide the ability to add Attendance Data directly from the Attendance Record page. These are just some of the many features that are being added to Version 7.3 of Therap Applications – look out for it this June.

Therap Regional Conferences in May

Therap Services successfully hosted the Therap Regional Conference in Oregon held at The Red Lion Hotel in Salem, Oregon from May 20 – 22, 2008. The conference included sessions on Therap applications, future Therap initiatives, Therap training through exciting games, discussions on various topics and presentations by other Therap users. Therap hosted another regional conference earlier this month in South Dakota from May 13 – 15, 2008. These conferences provided a good opportunity for both the users and Therap members to learn from each other and share their experiences.

The conferences featured sessions on Therap modules for beginners and advanced users. There were also sessions on the new features that are coming in version 7.3 and some sessions specific to users in Oregon and South Dakota.

There were additional discussion sessions on critical topics such as Therap’s HIPAA policy and plan, electronic signature, biometrics, fingerprints and state policies. Participants also saw demonstrations of ideas and concepts now being perfected in the Usability Garage and gave their feedback on them.

That is not all! Participants also enjoyed a series of fun and exciting sessions on Therap Training Games, interactive materials and more. The conferences featured a ‘Video Game Night’ where participants competed against each other on different gaming platforms such as the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii.

3D Training Game Adds New Module

The latest 3D Training Game module has been designed to train users on the popular incident reporting tool, General Event Reports. The game also provides training on Passwords, T-Logs, T-Task, ISP, and the Therap Calendar. Players will be tracking Mary's cooking skills via ISP and also submitting GERs in Planet Ehtpar. Users will also learn about some of the Delaware specific policies that may also apply to other providers. These are integrated in the storyline to better train the players about their responsibilities in different emergency situations. The training also incorporates ‘how and when’ to appropriately use ‘Other’ from the different drop-downs in GER as well as the use of some of the important sections of a GER in common scenarios.

The analyses of the game statistics and also our users’ feedback from different conferences have helped us diagnose the areas that seemed to be the most difficult and we took the time to address these issues and make the experience more effective. A host of new incidents, cinematics, and better graphics using improved lighting and texture have also been included in this new level.

You can check out a variety of Training Games being developed for Therap users and discuss your thoughts regarding these games in our forum.

From the Garage

The Usability Garage features exclusive demos of some of the newly designed applications, sketches and prototypes of fresh concepts, and process flow diagrams among others. One of the new concepts being designed is the Context Sensitive Help. This new feature adds helpful hints and guidelines specific to different sections of a form. A question mark icon appears next to every section and clicking on it will offer important help materials related to that particular section of the form.

Another new addition is the video tutorials that demonstrate the general concept of different forms and how they can be used. The demo video tutorial also integrates voice, call outs, and explanations to introduce a faster and easier learning curve for the staff members. The videos will be added to the Therap Support Knowledgebase and will also be made available as Context Sensitive Help.

The 'Help' button (available on the header of all application pages) will navigate users to a newly redesigned Home page for the Therap Support Knowledgebase. Users often face issues that are elaborated within the Knowledgebase. We hope that this new concept will help users to use the Knowledgebase more often to learn about the system in a much more effective manner. The same page also introduces a “Did you know?” section that keeps the users updated on recent issues and news related to Therap Applications.

All of these prototypes along with many more concepts that Therap is continuously working on are showcased in the Usability Garage on the Therap Homepage. Users can also join the discussions on these new developments in the forum.
